Flu and COVID autumn vaccine programme brought forward

Due to the emergence of a new COVID variant (BA.2.86) in mid-August, the flu and COVID vaccination programme (which was due to start in October) has been brought forward to mid-September.

The new variant has 30 new mutations. It represents the biggest change since Omicron and is highly transmissible.

At Grafton, COVID vaccinations will resume from mid-September and all those over 65 and in at-risk groups (including pregnant women, carers, health workers and those living with an immunosuppressed individual) are highly recommended to take up our offer of this booster along with an annual flu jab.

We will be setting up an automated booking system as soon as delivery dates are clear so please look out for our text message invitation. We will also call those who do not have this option.

Please ensure that we have up-to-date contact details for you.
